Summer Games Event: Lacrosse will return to the Olympics in 2028 for the first time since 1908. Men's and Women's teams will compete in the "SIXES" format.
Format: Six men's teams and Six Women's teams will compete for 5 days of round-robin play, followed by medal matches on July 29th.
The Game: Sixes is a fast-paced version of lacrosse played on a smaller field with NO SPECIALISTS (No Fogos or Long Poles) 8-Minute running time and a 30 second shot clock.
Haudenosaunee participation: The Haudenosaunee Confedereracy, inventors of lacrosse, are seeking an exception to compete under their own flag. The US and Canada support their participation.
Significance: This marks the first time women's lacrosse will be in the Olympics.
