Our Unique Approach

At BraveHeart Lacrosse, we teach what worked for us not only as a player, but also as a coach.
We may have different terminology or analogies from back east, but the fundamentals are the same and repetition is the mother of all skill. We ask our clients to improve 5% each time they workout at BraveHeart.

We know our clients will have a bunch of coaches over the course of their careers. We encourage our athletes to embrace skills and techniques that work into their games, that they learn from different coaches or other players.

What is unique about BraveHeart is that boys and girls of all ages and skill levels can workout together
The game teaches the game. If an inexperienced player drops a pass during a drill outside on a field, it kills the drill. At BraveHeart, its ok if a player drops a pass because our ball feeding system will fire another pass and the drill continues.

The younger players like working out with the older players because they can emulate what they see.
The older players feel like they are giving back to the game when they offer a younger player a tip or technique.on how to improve.

The Lacrosse community is a tight knit  group and we embrace the lacrosse culture at BraveHeart.

Wall Ball

If a player can't execute the fundamentals against the wall, it will be very difficult for them to perform them during a game. It doesn't matter how long you have played, Wall Ball is the best way to improve your stick skills. We try to encourage our clients to develop their own personal wall ball routine of  1,000 repetitions. We also believe in the 30/30 test to track improvement..

Scoop & Shoot

Each bucket holds about 80 balls. However many balls the client can scoop and shoot, we have! We believe you have to master the time and room shot, before you can develop your shot on the run.. Everyone who visits is confident with their dominant hand, but everyone always needs to practice their off hand, and this is a great way to do it.

Face Offs

The game within the game. As this position is getting more specialized, similar to a long snapper in football, we devote Fridays to the Face Off Get Off guys.

Goalie

Goalies are the most important position on the field. We develop beginnersall the way to elite goalies. We have several training tools unique to BraveHeart to get our goalies to the next level.

Ground Balls

Ground Balls are the most important statistic, at any level, in any game because they equal possessions. If an athlete can scoop a ground ball, they will get playing time, ground balls are that important. We focus on all the different ways to get the ball in the stick.

Catch & Shoot on the Run

BraveHeart Lacrosse has a ball feeder system that allows one athlete (or several) to practice catching, making a dodge and shooting the ball on the run. This is the hardest thing to teach and develop, as a rookie or veteran player. It takes a ton of practice and repetition to master it and there is no better place to practice this skill than at BraveHeart Lacrosse.

Defense

Defense Wins Championships and at BraveHeart we break down the individual skill into two parts. The first and most important part are an athletes feet. The second part are the hands. Playing solid defense is the same from u9 through u19 and BraveHeart prides itself on developing tough defense men.
